Car Bones

“Can you help me lift up my bed?” I peeked into my son’s room in need of a little assistance.

“Okay, why?” he asked.

“I’m trying to pull that mattress out from underneath.”

Although he was still months away from his thirteenth birthday, my “little guy” out weighed me by a whopping 30lbs. His feet were twice the size of mine and we stood almost head to head. He pushed his dyed green hair out of his eye with one hand, while he lifted the entirety my king sized bed up with the other. It suddenly occurred me, I had given birth to the hulk!

Thank gawd it was by c-section!

“There ya go!” he said in his usual chipper tone, bounding back into his bedroom to finish a game he had been playing on his Nintendo Switch. I was thankful he hadn’t asked any questions.

Once the thin mattress had been retrieved, I rolled it up as best I could, and dragged it out of my apartment and down the flight of stairs leading to my garage. As I made my way to the back of my SUV, I popped the trunk and stuffed it inside. Then I proceeded upstairs for a blanket, a fitted sheet and a pillow. They were warm to the touch but still a little damp having just come out of the dryer.

The sun had gone down not long before, and ten minutes prior to this, I had finally received the text message I had been waiting a long and lonely six months for.

It was from The Prince.

Well, okay. So, it wasn’t really a message per say. It was actually a gif of a drag queen dressed in a cat suit clawing at me. But, close enough.

Before I could respond, a Facebook message appeared from his profile. “That picture?!?!? WTF?”

Wondering if I was in trouble already, I simply responded with, “?”. I sat there for a moment, pondering how to the explain away any reason I would be in trouble for my fully clothed and non suggestive profile picture. Thankfully he messaged me again.

“You are so fucking hot, Asterisk. It makes me, mmmmm…”

“Hey Babe! You are out! Did everything go okay?” I asked.

“Yes. I told you my parents would be picking me up.”

“I know, I just had so many worries,” I confessed. “But I won’t get into them,” I added.

“It’s okay babe. You can say whatever you want to me now, I’m free! I won’t get upset. I need to see you. Can you meet me at the hotel?”

“Yes! Of course,” feeling a bit puzzled, I added, “but I thought your family was there and your friend was sharing a room with you.”

“They are, but they are jet lagged and asleep already. We can just sit in your car for a bit. I need to hug you.”

“Send me the address, I am on my way!”

Though I was in my pajamas and had several loads still running, I raced through my apartment complex to the laundry facility to retrieve my belongings before they even had finished their drying cycle. Back to my apartment, I left the clothes in the hamper, and created what will forever be known as “car bed.”

Hey man! The Prince had racked up $2000+ in jail phone calls over the months on my credit card, and I’d only gotten to see him from behind a pane of bullet proof glass.

I wanted to get some!

“Will you be okay alone for an hour or two?” I asked my son, while walking out the front door. “I’ll just be down the street, you can text me if you need anything.”

“Sure, I have my phone. Where are you going? Why did you take the mattress?”

There it finally was! The question I had been avoiding for the last five minutes.

“The Prince got out of jail… We are going to go look at stars.”

“Can I come?” he begged.

“Not tonight, but I’ll take you next time.”

“Tomorrow?” he asked.

“We’ll see. I’ll text you in a bit to check in.”

Yeah, okay. Go ahead, judge me again why don’t you? But you have to understand something. I had spent every night for over half a year rushing home from work to answer The Prince’s calls. I had spent most of the holidays alone, sitting by the phone waiting to hear from him. I even spent my birthday at home, hoping he would call me. Which he did by the way, 3 times that day! Though he never wished me a happy birthday.

He knew what day it was!

I spent every weekend at that jail, waiting in line for hours, just to have a 30 minute visit with my sweet Prince. Half of which he would storm out on, but I’ll tell you more about that later.

That was MY moment. I was about to touch his sweet ass onion in the flesh for the first time since last summer! Yes, my moment, car bed, wet clothes, kid home alone or not, I would have it.

As I pulled onto the highway, I felt like I was floating. Tears were streaming down my face, but I pushed them away because I had to keep my makeup looking perfect, duh! Something had to deflect from my ugly pajamas.

It seemed like an eternity had gone by before I pulled into the motel courtyard. As soon as I had entered the lot, I spotted him. I stopped my vehicle right beside him and and jumped out like I was about to rope a calf. He pulled me into his arms, and that’s when I felt them.

Bones!

No, I’m not talking about his junk! Get your mind out of the gutter! I’ll get there in a minute, hang on.

As he held me there, in his arms with the grip of Kung Fu Panda, I finally realized how skinny he was. I guess that’s what six months of noodles and a prison pill addiction will do to a man.

When he finally let go, I grabbed him by the hand and said, “Come here, I want to show you something.” I led him to the rear of my SUV and popped the trunk. His eyes twinkled when he saw it. “Let’s go find a dark spot in the back of the building.”

Within seconds, we were parked, laying in car bed and my panties were off! The veins in his erection ballooned out like the arm of a junkie who just had a fix. He penetrated me that night with the force of Allah, and by the third thrust he said it!

That’s right! Just as he was cumming he said, “I love you. Fuck! Asterisk! I fucking love you! I love you!”

I giggled but I didn’t say it back.

Instead I slipped my panties on and reached for my purse. “I brought you these.” I handed The Prince three disposable vape Bars.

“Asterisk, you are the best, seriously. I haven’t had nicotine in so long.”

“Well now you don’t have to worry about your family smelling cigarettes on you.”

“I can’t take them with me though, you don’t understand, my mom goes through everything,” he admitted.

“I thought about that too.” I reached into my glove box and pulled out a role of tape. “Put that in your coat pocket, you can tape them under the bed.”

The Prince kissed me.

“Tell me everything! I want to know all the things you couldn’t tell me over the recorded jail calls.”

“Babe, we will have plenty of time for that. I just want to relax tonight and enjoy not being in a cell.”

Although we didn’t see stars, we did transfix on the lights from the approaching vehicles going northbound on the 405. “It’s been so long since I’ve seen a car Asterisk. I can’t believe I’m really out.”

“I can’t believe you are actually here,” I said as I rubbed my hand across his chest.

Then for a second time that night, we made love. Only his time it lasted five thrusts. I didn’t even care. I knew he hadn’t had any action in a long time and after all, this night was for him.

When we were done I looked down at my phone to check the time and text my son.

“Is your son okay?” he asked.

“Yes, he’s fine.”

“I should go back in, before someone comes looking for me.”

“When will I see you again?” I asked.

“They leave in two weeks, then I’ll see how it goes. I might come stay with you for a while if that’s still okay.”

“You are always welcome at my place,” I said.

(Because apparently I hadn’t learned my lesson from the last time. <— Seriously though, if you haven’t watched that news clip yet, do that after this story! Don’t forget! Oh and I’m not fat anymore fyi.)

I hugged him again hard, and had to hold in more tears when I let him go.

That next evening, he sent me a text. “I’m so exhausted but I can’t sleep.”

“I’m sorry, Babe. What do you need? I have some melatonin.”

“I don’t think I can drive there, I’m too exhausted.”

“I’ll bring it to you! I still have car bed ;).”

“I don’t know why I feel like this. I’m so afraid of life, to go back to everyday things, and my body keeps jerking.”

“Honey, you were taking opiates in jail! You can’t just stop taking those. It’s like you are with-drawling from heroin! It’s serious. Plus all the emotional crap you are going through. I’ll come by and bring you some melatonin and a few Xanax.”

“I don’t know. Maybe I will come by with my friend. Just for a minute though, I can’t stay.”

“If you do, I’ll bring them down. Honestly though, I don’t mind dropping them off. Just tell me when.”

“Okay.”

About a half hour went by when I received a follow up text. All it said was, “5 min.”

“I can leave in five minutes but won’t be there for twenty,” I replied.

I got off the couch, put on my clothes and packed a bag. I loaded it with pills, a vape bar and some of the dinner I had made earlier to take with me, but before I could walk out the door, another text came in.

“I’m out front.”

I was taken by surprise. Perhaps text message isn’t the best way to communicate? I grabbed the bag and made my way down the stairs to the front of the apartment. The prince was standing by his car. I handed him the bag and went right in for a hug. He jumped back and instead, patted my back. “I’d like you to meet my friend.”

“This is Asterisk,” The Prince said to a large man sitting in his passenger seat. He glanced up at me briefly before grunting something that resembled a “hello.” I gave him a short wave and retreated.

“Thank you for this,” The Prince said. “I have to get to bed. I’ll text you tomorrow.”

I watched him climb into his car as I made my way towards my apartment feeling cold and confused. I barely heard another word from him in the coming two weeks but I’ll save that for next time.
